The AKG C414 XLII is a Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone that upholds the esteemed legacy of the C414 B-TL II. With its extensive array of nine selectable polar patterns, three attenuation levels, and three switchable bass-cut filters, the C414 XLII remains an incredibly versatile microphone for capturing vocals, drums, and acoustic as well as amplified instruments in both studio and live settings. This microphone is meticulously engineered to emulate the sonic characteristics of the vintage C12 tube microphone while offering an enhanced and expanded range of features. Its subtle high-frequency boost above 3 kHz compensates for the natural loss of high frequencies over distance, making the C414 XLII an exceptional choice for capturing vocals and instruments positioned farther away. With a broad dynamic range of 134 dB and the ability to manage SPL up to 158 dB, the 1″ edge-terminated, dual-diaphragm transducer produces a rich, linear, and natural tone. The C414 XLII is ideally adapted to resist the rigors of demanding studio, stage, and broadcast applications since it has complete immunity to electromagnetic and electrostatic interference as well as strong tolerance to humidity. A peak-hold LED that alerts you if overloading happens and a lock mode that prohibits accidental modifications to the microphone settings are special features. The set comes with a metal carrying bag, a pop filter, a windshield, and a shock mount that prevents vibration.
